There’s something special about titanium. Whether that’s the beautiful brushed raw tubing, or the idea that it will last a lifetime, it has always carried a mythical quality – and you probably haven’t lived until you’ve ridden a ti bike. At least, that’s what N+1 is telling us.

With that in mind, we thought we would take a journey back in time and look at some of the great titanium bikes that we have made. Hold on for obsolete standards, comically small wheels and even triple chainsets…

2010 – Genesis Altitude Ti

Our first ever titanium offering was a mountain bike – although with 26-inch wheels and three chainrings up front, it’s a world away from where we are ten years on!

Created from cold-drawn 3Al / 2.5V titanium tubes, this was a high-speed, long distance cross country weapon from our mountain bike roots and was succeeded in 2011/12 by the Latitude Ti.

2013 – Equilibrium Ti

Our first titanium road bike, the very ethos of the Equilibrium was made for the ti treatment.

The one road bike that could transform from winter commuter to summer superbike, this is the one we truly miss!

2015 – Equilibrium Disc Ti

Our second Equilibrium titanium added disc brakes for even more versatility. If you enjoy the quality of the ride over chasing mythical watts and wearing silly long socks, then this bike represented a golden era that just five years later, has been eclipsed by ‘modern’ thinking.

2016 – Croix de Fer Ti

After becoming the cornerstone of our range, it was only right that the Croix de Fer got the ti option – the only thing we wonder is why it took us so long!

Updated most recently in 2020 and subject of a Dream Build, this is our ultimate gravel and adventure bike, the culmination of over a decade of design - and best of all, you can get the latest model here

Eight years on from our first titanium frameset, it only seemed right to add a mountain bike back to the range. Things have changed beyond recognition from the original Altitude Ti, but we still think there’s something special about the way titanium rides off road, perhaps its perfect application. Best of all, you can get one right now.
