The Genesis Vagabond is the bike that dares to go further. Yes, this is as close as it gets to an unashamed, rigid, drop bar mountain bike – and best of all, it works!

Big 29er mountain bike wheels, cross-country racing rubber and sweet Reynolds 725 combine to make the Vagabond a true monstercross bike ready to tackle it all and carry whatever you may need.

With it’s sloping top tube providing greater standover and a +17 degree stem on the complete build, you’ll be in a commanding position when the terrain gets steep and rough.

The latest Vagabond has undergone some pretty significant changes for both the frameset and complete build, making it distinct from anything else in our range.

First is the upgrade to Reynolds 725 tubing. Compared to standard chromoly, this is heat treated to provide extra tensile strength. As it’s stronger we can get away with using less of it, so thinner butts are the order of the day helping to achieve a lighter overall frame weight and livelier ride without compromising strength.

Both frame and fork now also get 12mm thru-axles. Significantly stiffer and more secure than the old style 9mm QR, this has long been a standard for mountain bikes and really adds to the ride quality when the bike is pushed hard over rough ground.

Another addition are the multiple bottle bosses that feature across the frame and fork, while the rack and ‘guard mounts also remain.

Both the Vagabond bike and frameset both come with our the lifetime warranty. This is a bike which is built to last, and we’re proud to support our customers and stand behind that.

To help you decide between the complete build or frameset, we’ve given you a run-through of the highlights.

Our only Vagabond complete build has moved on significantly as it continues to lean further toward mountain bike tendencies, meaning you are free to explore further.

We’ve specified 1X SRAM Apex 11-speed shifters and rear derailleur, matched to an 11-42 cassette. In combination with the 36-tooth chainring, we think this gives a great range of gearing for on and off-road riding.

The WTB rims and accompanying 2.1-inch tyres are tubeless ready – and we would really encourage you to add a splash of your favourite sealant and enjoy the benefits of lower pressures, improved grip and comfort that the setup can bring.

TRP Spyre-C dual-piston, cable operated disc brakes deliver reliable stopping through 160mm rotors.

The Vagabond was made for a custom build – whether you’re raiding the spare parts box or starting something from scratch, the compatibility of this frameset is unbeatable!

Even though we’ve updated the frame to accept 12mm thru-axles and flat mount disc brake calipers, the capability remains to run with a 48/31 double-ring setup.

Alternatively, you could ditch the front mech and go for one of the latest single-ring specific drivetrains for greater simplicity.

From riding mountain bike trails, to taking on multi-day touring epics, the Vagabond is ready to adapt.
