This one stopped us in our tracks... an incredible finish from Doktorbobby of Colourburn Studio on a Volare 931 Disc.
You may remember the name of Doktorbobby from when we teamed up last year to create a custom colourway for Podia Roadventures, but this new design (called 'Nonconformist') is one of the House Finishes that will be on offer for a set price on the Colourburn Studio website. Enough from us though, we'll leave you to scroll down and marvel at this beauty but make sure you read on to find out a little more from the man himself.

“The graphics were done by using Variegated bronze leaf, which is basically just bronze leaf that has been through a heat treatment and acid etching process to achieve the green/blue patterns you can see on the graphics. It's applied to the frame using a technique which hasn't changed since the gilding process was invented hundreds of years ago.”
“The colour was mostly applied by hand with fine artists brushes, using various processes that I've developed over the past year or so to create the feeling of depth in the purple tones. It fades into my house metallic black at the rear of the frame, Pearl Black, The fade is done using more standard finishing techniques. It's all sealed in with 4 coats of 2k high gloss lacquer, which is then wet sanded and polished to give a totally flat and perfectly glossy finished surface.”
“All in, it’s the most labour intensive finish that I currently offer! There is around 60 man hours involved in creating a Nonconformist effect from start to finish!”
