Croix De Fer 853 Frameset

Croix De Fer 853 Frameset

£899.99

The ultimate steel touring machine, the Croix de Fer has always been in it for the long haul and is ready for whatever, whenever you are.

Build it as a utilitarian and bombproof tourer with the stock steel fork, or upgrade to the carbon fork and add finish it with the 1X drivetrain for something a bit more daring. For our top-of-the-line steel Croix de Fer, we’ve chosen Reynolds 853. Air hardened, the benefits of the process are particularly noticeable in the weld area where, unlike conventional steel alloys, strength can actually increase after cooling in air immediately after welding. 853 is also heat-treated to give high strength and damage resistance, and the steel properties allow thin walls to be used, so that lower weight but fatigue-resistant structures can be made. Thru axles front and rear (12mm), three bottle cage mounts for those long summer escapes and a blue that will make you go ‘ooooh’. What more could you wish for?

Yes! All bikes (apart from ex-display bikes) are available for both home delivery and reserve and collect in-store.

For all bikes delivered to your home, please allow 3-5 working days for your bike to arrive. This is to allow adequate time for a pre-delivery inspection (PDI) and subsequent safety checks carried out by a skilled bike technician prior to shipment. When you receive your bike, you will need to adjust the handlebars and seat-post height. Instructions on how to do this are provided with the bike. If the bikes comes with pedals, these will already be fitted to the bike for you. Kids bikes will come with 2 hex keys and a spanner, however, for all other bikes, you will require either a 4mm, 5mm or 6mm hex key to adjust your bike. For Di2 and E-bikes, the battery will need to be charged prior to use.

For all Reserve and Collect orders, your bike will undergo a pre-delivery inspection (PDI) and subsequent safety check by a skilled bike technician in-store. Once this is completed, your chosen store will contact you informing you that your bike is ready for collection. Payment is made to the store directly. Please note, some stores may request a deposit prior to building your bike if they do not have the bike model in stock at the time of ordering and will contact you to discuss this.

One Year Warranty: All bikes have a limited warranty and components are covered for one year from date of purchase - all to the original purchaser. Any part or frame failure that you would like to have inspected, as a warranty case should be first dealt with by the participating bike store where you originally purchased the bike from. If there is a case, then the aforementioned will be sent to us for further inspection and outcome. Please remember to provide your proof of purchase.
