Brand new adventure bike is welcomed to the range for 2015

A brand new, spiritual successor to the Fortitude, the Longitude is a half-fat, bikepacking/adventure-ready, fully rigid 29er with versatility in spades.  The Longitude will retail in the UK for £999.99

The Longitude is built around the new Genesis Mjölnir Seamless D.B Cromoly frameset.  The frame features a new inboard disc sliding horizontal dropout with mech hanger.  Should your rear mech fail in the middle of nowhere, this will allow you to go ‘singlespeed’ and get you home.  We have paired the frame to a non-suspension corrected fork which is both light and plenty stiff. The frame and fork have been design together to offer a complete package rather than being dictated to in terms of fork offset, axle-crown height, etc.

We hope you will spend long hours in the saddle on board the Longitude.  As a result, comfort has been a key part of the design brief.  The newly sourced ‘Alt’ handlebar benefits from a 20mm rise and 20° backsweep  to place both wrists and shoulders in a more natural position.  Furthering the comfort are the 2.4” Conti X-King folding tyres which sit on 35mm wide rims providing an improved tyre profile and the possibility of running, lower pressures to maximise available air volume thus providing improved comfort and grip.  Should you wish, the frame will also accommodate 3” tyres for that ‘half-fat’ look.

The Longitude has been specced to cope with the rigors of mountain touring.  Shimano’s 29er compact triple 40/30/22T combined with a wide-range 11-36T cassette give ample spread to be able to tackle all terrains.  TRP’s Spyke mechanical disc brakes with dual piston action provide the stopping power required for a fully laden ride.
