The Volant is a very Genesis take on an alloy-framed road race bike. The ideal entry/mid level race geometry road bikes with a racier look and feel than our Equilibrium range and ideal for those looking for a speedy and efficient introduction to the world of dropbar road bikes, be it racing, sportives or competitive rides with friends on a Sunday morning.

In true Genesis style we have chosen to use round tubes and tried to focus on engineering rather than aesthetics. Overly formed and shaped tubes that exist only to give a certain look is everything we strive to avoid here at Genesis, for us it’s all about function, good design and keeping the product simple. For the design of the Volants we carefully selected tube diameters, wall thicknesses and butt profiles and combined that with good geometry to produce a frame that mixes stiffness, comfort and weight in the right ratio to give a fast and precise ride.

All Volant models feature an oversized, tapered steerer compatable XX44 headtube which allows the use of oversized top and down seat tubes, providing maximum weld area in the right places and helps create a stiff front end. An integrated carbon fork is offered on all models.

Upgrades over the Volant 00 are a 6069 ALX-9 double butted alloy frame and a full 2013 Shimano Sora 9-spd groupset, plus Shimano hubs. The white, green and red paint scheme has a distinctly Italian feel to it and the brown bar tape and saddle give a nod to classic road bikes of the past. This bike is certainly a head turner.
