A Reynolds 520 frame with a Cr-Mo fork – simple on the surface and detailed below it. Strong Cr-Mo tubes are double-butted and TIG welded to within a fifth of a degree accuracy. Slim 16mm seat stays and 19mm chainstays reduce are light as well as springy, adding comfort and a lively feel to the ride. The seat clamp lug and slimmer gauge tubes are a tribute to classic track and road bikes but the Flyer is no whippy old-school frame that needs to be handled with care, it’s a solid base for acceleration and high-speed cornering. Track ends have built-in tensioners to make wheel positioning a simple job.
- Reynolds 520 Cr-Mo frame is relatively stiff in the main frame yet compliant and smooth at the rear
- Slim steel fork matches the frame in terms of low weight and a comfortable, vibration-reducing feel
- Track dropouts with chain tensioners are solid and reliable
