We use Reynolds steel for many reasons, the main one being that we value the experience of the original maker of butted bicycle tubing. Every high-quality bike out there has been influenced by the tubing technology that Reynolds have been perfecting for over 100 years. Reynolds 520 Chrome-Moly (equivalent to Tange Prestige Cr-Mo or commonly used ‘4130′ tubing) is the perfect material for a low-cost single-speed frame that will surprise you with the quality of it’s ride. We have one main aim with steel frames, and that is to produce a strong, durable frame with enough spring to add comfort and ride ‘feel’, but without excessive flex that can compromise the technical handling benefits of longer forks and wider bars. With tubes varying across frame size and frame type, the right ride feel is there in every bike frame we make. The iO uses a SS-specific frame design with a slimmer top tube for an optimised ride feel with shorter forks, plus it has no moving parts – traditional track ends mean no creaks and no adjustable parts to go wrong.

  • Rack eyelets included - now there is no need to return home at night, extend day rides to weekend rides
  • Track dropouts with chain tensioners and rotating disc mounts are solid and reliable
  • Slimmer top tube than the Altitude means stiffness / spring balance is optimised for rigid or 100mm forks
