Fortitude Race SRP£1249.99

The Fortitude is our rigid specific mountain bike, you can’t run it with suspension. A relatively slack head angle gives a super stable ride and despite the rigid fork this is a very capable singletrack destroyer.

There is a joy to be had in fully rigid riding, it is a form of mountain biking where you are directly connected to the trail, every shift of your body weight, every dab of the brake lever, every pedal stroke, they all count, it’s a simple but beautiful and rewarding way to ride. In an industry where we are always being sold the latest technology sometimes you just want to escape and it’s amazing just how much fun a rigid bike can be. You will become fast, you will start relying on skills you forget you even had and rather than just charging through obstacles on the latest front or fully suspended bike, you will have to pick your lines, learn how to read the trail again and become a better rider for it.

The Race retains the Fortitude ethic of keeping it clean and functional. The Reynolds 725 Tubing is brought into its element on this Rigid platform, taking away the harsh edge of riding without damping and allowing you to stay in the saddle longer. Drive is provided by a 1x10 Transmission combining Shimano’s slick shifting SLX & XT components with an e13 chainguide for company.

Features

Non-Suspension Corrected Fork

The short rigid fork keeps the front end nice and low and combined with a low BB it allows us to replicate the great handling of a 100mm 26inch hardtail with the rolling advantage of the bigger wheels.

Flattened seat tube

The flattened/squashed seat tube allows a nice tight wheelbase without having to bend the seat tube. It luckily also gives a clean look and ensures straight tubes throughout.

Clean lines - No additional mounts

keep it clean and simple, light and racey we haven’t included any additional mounts, so no rack mounts, no fender mounts, no low rider mounts on the fork. Bottle and crud catcher bosses only.

1 x 10 specific

Somewhere between singlespeed and fully geared, 1x10 keeps the simplicity of having only one chain ring at the front and no front derailleur, but with 10 gears out back it gives you a little extra scope for scrambling up those loose steep climbs, or with
