The Equilibrium was designed just for this; the Reynolds 725 frameset mixing comfort, speed and efficiency together with pure, classic aesthetics to prove that steel is still very much a current and viable frame material given the right application. With relaxed ‘all day’ geometry and careful tube selection we’ve created a bike that rides every bit as good as it looks.
The Equilibrium is the perfect ‘one’ bike for any tarmac occasion. Whether that be commuting to work, or sucking up the pothole thumps, riding all day with friends at the weekend or even tackling the cobbles and climbs of the spring classics like Roubaix or Flanders. Add mudguards to the equation and it becomes a true all-seasons bike.
The deep metallic copper colour we have chosen for the 2013 Equilibrium 20 model is simply beautiful, and viewed in bright sunlight, really comes to life. The black drivetrain and finishing kit combine with the metallic copper for a more contemporary look for this year.
725 offers a great combination of comfort and performance and is extremely versatile (see also Fortitude 29er). “A material that allows thin gauge, tight tolerance tube, providing maximum weight saving for competitive use.”
Mudguard eyelets front and rear combined with 57mm long-drop brake calliper mounts and bags of clearance make fitting full-length mudguards a doddle (even with up to 28c tyres fitted).
We know some of you choosing the frame-only option will perhaps already have a preferred carbon fork set aside or in mind for a custom build. For this reason we offer the sleek, colour-matched, carbon legged/alloy steerer fork as a seperate item. Only pay for the parts you need.
